Before there was an industry, there was Joe Weider. The brand that built the language of strength still carries his name — and his standard.
In 1936, Joe Weider founded WEIDER and effectively created the category we now call sports nutrition. A trainer, publisher and relentless innovator, he put strength training, smart nutrition and recovery on the same page — literally, through the magazines that became Muscle & Fitness and Flex.
Known as the "Trainer of Champions," Joe and his brother Ben co-founded the IFBB and created the Mr. Olympia — the most prestigious title in the sport — while mentoring icons from Larry Scott and Franco Columbu to Arnold Schwarzenegger.
